GC of the Season Awards

Games Coordinators are essential to CSSC leagues and play a huge role in ensuring that all players enjoy themselves each and every night. The CSSC GC Team is continuously growing and although there are many excellent members out at the games, each season the Club recognizes a select few with the GC of the Season Award.

Each winner is nominated through player submissions, CSSC Staff recommendations, and/or based off the Field Staff Manager and GC Head Trainer evaluations. The goal is to award those that display a positive and friendly attitude, while at the same time getting involved with the games and providing players with the best experience possible.

Sam Francois - Soccer

Rookie Season: Fall 2019

Hey, I'm Sam and this is my 14th season as a GC. I've been with the Club for a while now and enjoy all the player interactions and relationships I've made from my time here. You can see me GCing at everything from soccer to basketball, kinball to flag football and everything in between. I also play on a flag football team in the Spring, so you can catch me out there too!

Zane Clark - Dodgeball

Sports: Dodgeball
Rookie Season: Winter 2023

My name is Zane and this is my second season with CSSC with my rookie season being winter 2023. I mainly gc dodgeball but also do multi-sport as well. I've been a player with CSSC for a few years now with dodgeball and slo pitch being my main two sports. Outside of CSSC, I'm a student at U of C and play on the University rugby team as well. I'm glad I was able to find CSSC and become apart of their great community of players!

Taylor Holtorf - Multi-Sport

Sports: Multi-Sport
Rookie Season: Winter 2024

Hey! My name is Taylor Holtorf. I moved to Calgary in January 2023, once I was settled into my new home and job I decided to look for a second gig. My goal was to find something I enjoyed and would give an opportunity to make new connections in Calgary. Sports have always been a major part of my life, I grew up playing hockey, volleyball and basketball so I knew CSSC would be a perfect fit. My rookie season was so much fun! My role as a GC met both goals I set, I have enjoyed learning new sports and I am so grateful for all the new connections! I am looking forward to more seasons to come.

Jonathan Mutuc - Basketball

Sports: Basketball
Rookie Season: Fall 2023

My name is Jonathan and this winter was my second season as a basketball GC. I've always had a love for sports, and was looking for a way to get involved again after a long hiatus. Seeing others compete and have fun was enough for me, and I decided to join a team this past season.

The friendships and connections I've made in my short time here is exactly why I was drawn to the position in the first place. Becoming a GC has helped me improve in different areas and has been a great overall experience.

Matthew MacSween - Ball Hockey

Sports: Ball Hockey
Rookie Season: Spring 2022

I'm Matt MacSween, more commonly referred to as 'MacSween Gun Kelly' and this was my 5th season as a GC with CSSC. I really enjoy being a part of sports and getting to have fun with people while getting paid. During the Spring and Summer CSSC actually becomes my full-time job as I work on the Field Maintenance Crew. If you're playing with CSSC on a nicely mowed field, you know who was behind it!
