What We Do

Our goal is to encourage as many Calgarians as possible to ‘get in the game!’ Our programs are for adults who want to participate in co-ed leagues, tournaments, fitness classes and events that are well organized, easy to access through our website and always in the spirit of our ‘fun first, winning second’ philosophy.

The CSSC offers over 15 sports and activities with various skill levels, ranging from Recreational to Competitive. Our easy online registration system allows for individuals, groups of friends, and complete teams to register, so everyone should be able to find a way to get involved.

If you are hoping to meet new people, you can do it on and off the field. We have several sponsor pubs throughout the city where players meet up after their games to enjoy a friendly atmosphere and exclusive CSSC food and drink specials. At the end of each season we also put on a big party to wrap-up the leagues and to award all of the champions with their T-shirts! Our many sponsors supply awesome prizes for our players at all league and tournament parties.

Positive word of mouth and enthusiasm towards our ‘fun first’ attitude and high level of organization, has allowed the CSSC to grow from 16 teams in our first season in Spring 1996 to over 1000 teams in our Spring 2009 league! Despite our status as the largest adult Co-Ed sports provider in Calgary, each division is still small and intimate. Our website allows players to access all of the info they need to get to their games, check their results and venture into new activities.

Our programs run on a quarterly basis with the Fall and Winter seasons focusing mainly on indoor sports and the Spring and Summer seasons focusing mainly on outdoor sports. There are also tabs above to help you quickly learn about our popular tournaments, special events and parties.

CSSC Staff

At the Sport & Social Club, our staff really do follow the motto of “work hard, play hard”. Our office currently has about 8 full-time managers and sports administrators, who in turn look after over 100 part-time field staff and hundreds of teams each season. This means that there is a lot to do each day – but we try to have fun doing it! If you ever have a chance to visit us at our office, you won’t see the staff playing floor hockey in the hallway and drinking Sleeman as you might have imagined, but you would see a friendly and professional team dedicated to bringing you the best possible sporting experience.
