REGISTRATION
DEADLINE NOW IN EFFECT
|
Please take note of the INDOOR
registration deadline of Tuesday, April 13th, 2010. Prior to this
deadline, all registrants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis;
the closer to February 17th that you get your registration in, the
better your chances are of making it into the league of your choice. After
April 13th, if we require registrants, we will advertise any spots
that are available. |
General Description |
Badminton is a great sport
for improving your agility, hand-eye coordination, and stamina. It is a 2 on
2 game, with a minimum of one female on the court at all times. The CSSC
offers divisions such as Recreational, Recreational Plus, and starting in Fall
2009, we will be offering an Intermediate division on Monday nights. There is
an Event Coordinator on-site to update players on CSSC happenings and to get
the games started, however, players are expected to call their fouls and
manage their own game. Each team plays two opponents per night (two matches
consisting of three games each). Games are played on standard badminton
courts in medium and large sized gyms in schools throughout the city. After
your game, meet-up with your teammates and other CSSC players while enjoying
exclusive specials at one of our many Sponsor Bars around Calgary.
New in Spring
2010, the CSSC will be offering a “Badminton Club” on Wednesday nights. For
the “Badminton Club”, there is no set schedule or partners. Have the option
to play with and/or against different people each week. All skill levels are
welcome. Courts may be designated for different skill levels and formats
(e.g. singles, doubles, practice, King’s court). There will be an on-site
coordinator that will help facilitate partners and games. |
Who Can Play? |
Adults aged 18 and older may
join any of our Badminton leagues. We welcome full teams (2-3 players) and
individual registrations. Individual registrations are combined with other
similar registrants to form a team that remains together for the duration of the
season. |
