CSSC 2010 CSSC GOLF LEAGUE INFORMATION

REGISTRATION DEADLINE NOW IN EFFECT
|
Please
take note of the Golf League (Season 2) registration deadline of July 6,
2010. Prior to this deadline, all registrants are accepted on a first-come,
first-served basis; the sooner that you get your registration in, the better
your chances are of making it into the league of your choice. After July 6,
if we require registrants, we will advertise any spots that are
available.

General
Description
|
Did
you know that nearly 50% of Calgarians play golf? New in 2010, the
CSSC is offering golf leagues. Each golf team consists of 4 players (i.e. 2
twosomes, which make up an 4 person team) and each team will compete against
one another during the 8 week season. All skill levels are welcome and scores
will be adjusted based on individual playing ability (handicap). Leagues will
be played at Boulder
Creek Golf Course and Silverwing
Golf Course. Here is what you will
receive by joining the CSSC Golf League:

Discounted 9-hole golf rounds for 8 weeks
(less than $40 per round)
·
Teams will play on a different 9-hole course each
week (alternating between the two golf courses)
·
Carts will be included with GPS
·
Each player will also receive a complimentary
logoed golf wind-shirt (valued at $50)
·
Fully updated standings with team/personal
statistics
·
50% discount on club rentals (if required)
·
Food and drink specials at the Clubhouse
(including Event Sponsorship nights – e.g. free beer night, prizes, etc.)
·
There will be a mandatory prize pool each week
(each golfer will provide an additional $5 per round, which will go towards
weekly and grand prizes – 100% of this pooled money will go towards prizing
for the golfers)
·
The chance to be the CSSC’s first Golf League
Champs (each winning player will receive a logoed golf shirt and a free
18-hole round of golf)

Who Can Play?
|
Adults aged 18 and older can join the CSSC Golf
League. This league is co-ed and self-officiated. We welcome full teams (8 golfers) and group/individual registrations (1-3 golfers but not a full team).
Small groups and individual registrations are combined with other similar
registrants to form a team that remains together for the duration of the
season.

League Format
|
Schedules: Schedules will be posted to the
website no later than 7-days prior to each round. Games will be scheduled on long weekend Sundays. A 9-hole round
typically lasts around 2 hours. The league consists of a 8-week schedule. You
will play each week with a player from your team competing against 2 players
from another team. Teams will have the option to change up their twosomes
week to week.
Standings/Scoring: Team scores will be transferred into
a point system. Every week will have different golf games and scoring (e.g.
match play, best ball, etc.). The team with the most points at the end of the
season will be the league champions.
The CSSC leagues have the right to
adjust player handicaps at any point during the season.

HOW DO I REGISTER?
|
All players should register and pay
online using our secure registration process. This will increase your chances
of getting into the league of your choice. If you do not have a credit card,
you may phone the office at 403-244-PLAY (7529) and make arrangements to
register and pay in person during regular business hours.
|
Full Teams: The Team Captain will register and pay for the
entire team. Every player on your roster must be registered with complete
contact info for the Captain and Co-captain. The maximum players on the form
is 11, but you may carry more than this on your team. In the comments box at
the bottom of the registration form, please indicate each registrant’s
handicap. If you do not know how to calculate each person’s handicap, please
indicate their average score on 9 holes.

Small Groups/Individuals: For 1-3 golfers who cannot make a full team, but
want to play together. Complete contact info is required for all golfers.
Singles will be added to your roster by the CSSC to a maximum of 4 players.
In the comments box at the bottom of the registration form, please indicate
each registrant’s handicap. If you do not know how to calculate each person’s
handicap, please indicate their average score on 9 holes.

Facility Information
|
If any player or team causes the SSC
to receive a complaint from Boulder Creek and/or Silverwing Golf Course, they
will be fined $100.00 and subject to removal from the league. For the

Boulder Creek Golf Course:
Located just 10 minutes east of the city off Glenmore Trail. Boulder Creek is
an 18-hole golf course which caters to players of all abilities. Visit bouldercreek.ca for more information.
Silverwing Golf Course: Located just off of McKnight Blvd. &
Barlow Trail. Silverwing Links is a 27-hole facility conveniently located

Boulder Creek and Silverwing golf
courses have been open for a couple of years and they represent fair
conditioned golf courses at an affordable rate. The CSSC golf league is
intended to be a fun-first, socially oriented league for all skill levels.

Rosters
|
All golfers that participate in the
league must sign the CSSC waiver.
Captains who register and pay for a full team retain complete control over
their rosters, and can add or remove players as they see fit.
Singles and small group registrants are combined to form teams for the full
season. Singles teams will receive their roster by email 48 hours prior to
their first round.
The CSSC Golf League is coed and all
teams require a minimum of 1 female each round.
You are welcome to have
subs/alternates when you need to fill roster spots as long as each team
maintains at least 1 lady golfer each week. They must also fill in a CSSC
waiver prior to participating.

Weather Policy
|
In the event of inclement weather
(heavy rain or snow) you will receive a 9-hole golf voucher with cart to use
at your discretion. In the event of inclement weather, Boulder Creek and Silverwing Golf Courses will make a call on

Calling the Shots
|
All players in CSSC Golf Leagues are
responsible for keeping the teams score that you are playing against. At the
end of each night both teams are required to sign the score card to ensure
accuracy

Golf League Rules
|
Rules: Rules
will be posted on the website and handed out to golfers upon arrival during
week 1. Should you have any questions about ANYTHING please speak directly to
the league officiator on-site. Rules, Scoring and Format.
Golf Attire: General golf attire is required at each golf
course. At Silverwing, khakis and a collared shirt are required. At Boulder
Creek, jeans are permitted, but they cannot be ripped, tattered or torn. For
