SSC Indoor Weather Policy
1. INDOOR WEATHER POLICY:
Unfortunately, there are many instances in Alberta when the weather is not ideal and road conditions are poor. The SSC will not cancel indoor games due to poor weather or road conditions for the following reasons: facilities are extremely hard to re-book, coordinators are also hard to re-book, we have limited time to get all games played in each season. Because of this, all players should plan ahead and give themselves as much time as possible to get to their games. While our default policy states that any team not having the minimum required amount of players at game time will default, on days with extreme weather, coordinators have been instructed to give 10-15 minutes leeway for teams to arrive. Any team that does not show up to their game, regardless of whether or not they have contacted the office in advance, will be subject to the default fee. See our default policy for full details.
3. WHY AREN'T GAMES EVER CANCELED?
There are many factors that go into making a season schedule, and there are typically a very limited amount of weeks to get games complete. While driving in poor conditions is not ideal, players need to remember that living in Alberta means there will be some nights when the weather is bad and teams will have to drive in less than ideal conditions to make it out to their games.
