Hey! My name is Riva and I was born and raised right here in Calgary, Alberta.
Growing up I played various sports both in and out of school, and I especially loved joining and competing in team sports like Basketball, Volleyball, and Field Hockey. I really enjoy the camaraderie and motivation that comes with competition and team sports, which is why the social aspect of the CSSC is very appealing to me. After high school, I started to try out different sports and activities, like Rowing at the University of Calgary, Powerlifting, Dodgeball, Spikeball, and Ultimate. I even played Ultimate with the CSSC and plan to play Spikeball with the organization this upcoming year! When I was playing with the CSSC I noticed that I was always counting down the hours to that specific day of the week I could go and compete with my friends.
When I am not training or competing, you can probably find me studying, as I plan to attend medical school, or volunteering with Alberta Health Services. I also very much enjoy walking my dog (so that I can pet all the other dogs I meet) and occasionally walking my boyfriend.
