Bookkeeper - Accounting Coordinator

This is a full-time career opportunity working as an Account Coordinator for 2 small businesses.

The Sport & Social Club is Alberta's largest providers of adult recreational sports leagues, tournaments and events. Thousands of adults participate in a variety of sports each season, while getting a great social experience at the same time.

The Accounting Coordinator will work relatively independently, but will have daily contact and frequent meetings with the CEO of both companies, Rob Gillespie. Experienced bookkeepers who are open to a structured environment and to learning some new processes and systems are welcome to apply; as are those with less experience who require more training, but have a love for math and accounting. Must have experience or be comfortable learning both Sage 50 and QuickBooks.

Start date: December 2022 or January 2023

Sport & Social Club:
- Sage 50 accounting software
- Process bi-weekly payroll
- Organize and pay invoices weekly
- Post debit and credit card receipts
- Calculate and submit payment requests for remittances, income taxes, GST
- Reconcile key Balance Sheet accounts such as Visa, Bank, Pre-paids, etc.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliation
- Help finalize all accounts for year-end tax files performed by independent accounting firm

Nurse Next Door:
- QuickBooks accounting software
- Duties are the same as listed above for Sport & Social Club

General:
- Timely and accurate updates to the CEO or other staff
- Update ‘Daily Checklist’ (Excel file) for both companies (this file outlines key tasks and timing for each, on a weekly basis)
- Perform work on special projects as required

• A Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping is required
• Previous full-time experience in a bookkeeping role is an asset
• Experience with QuickBooks and Sage 50 is an asset
• Experience managing payroll, reconciliations, payables, and remittances is preferred
• High attention to detail
• Proven Organization Skills
• A strong understanding of math and working with data
• Competent with Excel spreadsheets
• Takes pride in all tasks
