The Position

Reporting to the Field Staff Manager at CSSC, the Field Maintenance Coordinators maintain all outdoor facilities under the CSSC portfolio to ensure an exceptional player experience. During the Spring and Summer months, hundreds of fields/diamonds are used daily by many Calgarians in our co-ed leagues. The FMC will be tasked with raking, mowing, and lining all fields and diamonds, as well as scouting new locations to help add great options to our line-up. 

This is an ideal position for an individual who is seeking active, outdoor employment. If you enjoy working with your hands, have high attention to detail, and enjoy working in the fresh air, this is the position for you!

Start Date: April 2024

End Date: September 2024

Hours: 5 days/week, 40hrs/wk (Mon-Fri)

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance: 

  • Maintenance of playfields used by the CSSC including: Slo-Pitch diamonds, Outdoor Soccer pitches, Kickball diamonds, and Ultimate Frisbee/Flag Football fields.
  • Drive the company vehicle and trailer, transport supplies to locations daily
  • Operate the Field Striper to paint crisp, accurate lines on all fields.
  • Ensure grass is kept at a playable height on all fields, using a ride-on lawn mower.
  • Rake and drag Slo-Pitch shale to ensure safety and remove debris/divots.
  • Assist with set-up and sand maintenance at the CSSC Beach Volleyball courts.
  • Ensure that machines and vehicles are in good working order.
  • Maintain inventory throughout the season.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Scouting: 

  • Drive the company vehicle to various locations throughout the city and assess viability for CSSC use.
  • Draw a detailed map of each location, including measurements and notes.
  • Provide an accurate rating of each location and make recommendations on how suitable it is for CSSC gameplay.

Administration: 

  • Meet with Management daily to review and plan daily tasks.
  • Update Maintenance logs including details and locations visited.

Key Requirements

  • Capable of lifting 20+ lbs and performing physical tasks.
  • Organized

  • Full-time access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work independently
  • Clean driving record; experience driving with an attached trailer would be considered an asset
  • Slo-Pitch and Outdoor Soccer knowledge would be considered an asset

Compensation Package

  • $20.00/hr. (includes base pay of $19.00/hr. and season-end bonus)
