Staff Testimonial and CSSC Culture

Overview:
The CSSC is Calgary’s largest provider of adult recreational sports leagues, tournaments and events. The SSC culture (Calgary and Edmonton offices) is built on a foundation of high performance and results, along with teamwork and collaboration. We place a strong emphasis on hiring exceptional people and giving them the tools and guidance that they need to excel in their roles. New staff are given strong support and direction but are encouraged to gain freedom through commitment and results. Weekly goal setting meetings help each employee to have a plan for success. We also like to have fun: staff lunches and celebrations, staff outings, participation on staff sport teams, out of town trips to Banff, Sylvan Lake and Edmonton are all some examples of the team bonding that we do.

A note from our former Event & Marketing Coordinator (Tiona):

"Who knew that you could combine your love of sports with work?! Being the EMC at SSC for 2 years was an absolute dream come true.

I've played sports my entire life, and they have always been such a vital role in both my physical and mental health. SSC is an extremely welcoming environment, with a focus on hard work and fun, and the tools to advance yourself in work and life.

As the EMC, I was able to challenge myself to make events bigger and better than ever before. This position pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone and kept me continually striving to do better. Seeing all of the smiling faces on a tournament day was one of the most rewarding feelings!"
