Staff Testimonial and CSSC Culture

Overview:

The SSC culture (Calgary and Edmonton offices), is a performance-oriented environment. We place a strong emphasis on hiring exceptional people and giving them all of the support that they need to excel in their roles. New staff are given strong guidance and nurturance, but are encouraged to gain freedom through commitment and results. Weekly goal setting meetings with their manager helps each staff member to create and execute a plan for success. Ongoing skill development sessions aid in increasing all employees effectiveness in their roles. We also like to have fun: frequent staff outings, our innovations program, out of town trips to Banff, Sylvan Lake, Edmonton, etc. are a few examples of our work hard, play hard mentality.

A note from our current Leagues Coordinator Marissa:

This is the most interesting role I’ve ever had, and certainly the most rewarding! Over the past five years, the Club and this position have helped me develop my character and skills, and I will be leaving behind some accomplishments I am extremely proud of. I am thankful for our managers and the director for being the foundation of strong leaders and an excellent team, and for being supportive and open to new ideas. This is a team who wants everyone to succeed and will help you in anyway to achieve your goals. They have been fantastic role models and I have learned how to lead my own team of volunteers and part-time staff; a group that the next Leagues Coordinator is going to love! The CSSC is always observing, listening, adapting and evolving – and we have a lot of fun along the way. If this sounds like the type of culture you want to be a part of, I strongly encourage you apply. It is fast-paced and challenging, and we have a solid group working together to achieve great things. The CSSC has helped me refine my passion for teaching and leading, and know that everything I have learned along the way will propel me forward in this new chapter of my life.
