We get it, you’re at your game and urine it to win it but then nature calls. You’re a whiz when it comes to sports but don’t always plan ahead. Well in our CSSC leagues, you bladder plan ahead as that would be golden! Okay, these puns are getting ex-stream.

Here are some helpful tips to avoid urination complaints from the neighbours and City of Calgary:

  • Go to the washroom BEFORE you go to your game.
  • Don’t think that ‘letting a little bit out’ will help.
  • Leave the field and find a public washroom nearby.

In all seriousness, public urination is the #1 complaint we receive and these types of complaints put the CSSC at risk of losing our fields/diamonds. If you pee where you’re not supposed to and it causes an official complaint from the City of Calgary, your team may be fined and/or suspended. It’s worth heading to the nearest 7-Eleven to find a washroom to use, and you can pick up a refill of Spitz while you’re at it! If that isn’t a win-win situation, we don’t know what is.

Why We Don’t Have Porta Potties

Unfortunately, due to the large cost associated with Porta Potty rentals, the CSSC cannot put them at every single diamond or field we use. We use over 100 diamonds/fields on any given night, and it costs upwards of $1000 to rent and maintain one Porta Potty for an eight week season. If we were to put Porta Potties at every outdoor facility, we would have to pass that expense on to our players, and the fees to play in our leagues would go up by a significant amount. We have surveyed our players in the past and the majority agree that they would rather pay a lower league fee than have Porta Potty at each diamond/field.
