What Height Is Right?

Do you know what a fun volleyball drinking game is? Taking a swig every time you hear someone say “is this the net the right height?” followed by them reaching an arm up to measure. I guarantee that you’ll be 105% hydrated by the end of the game!

Nets in our leagues should all be set to men’s height, also known as 2.43 meters or 7 feet and 11 5/8 inches. Oftentimes this will be marked on the volleyball poles for ease of reference while setting up. No markings on the pole? Going with the highest setting is often a good bet!

If all else fails… use your arm to measure!

Just went out and bought new knee pads and court shoes? Or maybe you are dusting off the old ones from high school? If you said yes to the second question, I would probably give those a smell test and a good wash first.
