There are many benefits to being a Legend in the SSC leagues. Some are more obvious than others but all equally as important!
We strongly believe that staying involved in sport even as you age is one of the best things you can do. Over our previous articles we have explored the ideas behind the Legends leagues and even heard some testimonials from our players. In this article, we are going to explore the individual benefits to the Legends league and why you should consider it, if you haven’t already.
• Health
It is no secret that staying in shape as we age gets more difficult each passing year. Time becomes more valuable and gym sessions become tedious chores as priorities shift. This however, does not take away from the importance of keeping up our health. Sport is one of the easiest and most fun ways to do this. If you had to pick going to the gym or playing a sport you have loved for years, which would you choose!?
• Better Playing Experience
Even if you have played Volleyball for more than half of your life or just started this season, competitiveness typically lessens as player’s age. They focus less on winning and more on enjoying the game. In Legends leagues, teams are naturally more evenly skilled and sportsmanship is reduced. Along with the earlier times, ideal locations and discounts (for small groups and team captains) the player experience as a Legend is legendary!
• Play with Friends and Family
Another amazing benefit to playing in the Legends league is being around like-minded individuals. Whether you are playing as an individual or as part of a full team, you are likely to meet players looking to stay fit and active and enjoy a favourite sport. You are never too old to meet new people and enjoy a common activity with some new friends. Teams are even allowed to have a few players between 25-35 on the team, which is a great way to get your kids out and play as a family!
• Keep the Fun Going
While some of you lucky Legends may already get to take advantage of seniors’ discounts, you can also take advantage of the SSC Exclusive specials at our various Sponsor Bar’s! Earlier game times leave more time for a drink or some food after the game to go over the best plays of the night.
