Game Format

  • All Slo-Pitch Leagues are self-officiated.
  • All diamond bookings are 1.5 hours in length.
  • Games are 7 innings in length.
    • Some diamonds will have an early and late game. The two captains in the early game must ensure that the game gets started on time and is finished before the start of the late game.
    • Playing extra innings to break a tie is not encouraged, but the captains may decide on this if time permits and there is no late game scheduled on the diamond.
    • A new inning may not be started with less than 10 minutes before the start of the next game.

Season Length

  • The majority of 8 Week Slo-Pitch Leagues use the following structure:
    • 6 weeks of regular season games.*
    • 2 weeks of playoff games.
       
  • 5 Week Slo-Pitch Leagues use the following structure:
    • 4 Week of regular season games**
    • 1 Week of playoffs
       
  • The majority of 16 Week Slo-Pitch Leagues use the following structure:
    • 13 weeks of seeding / regular season games (seeding round is dependent on the number of teams registered).
    • 3 weeks of playoff games.
       
  • In cases where rain-outs occur, games are made up via double-headers or season extensions (1-2 weeks).
  • Games are always played on the Monday of long weekend's.

* Spring/Summer Weekend Leagues: Teams will have a scheduled double-header. The 6 regular season games will take place over 5 weeks.
**Fall Leagues: Teams will have a scheduled double-header. The 4 regular season games will take place over 3 weeks.

Playoffs

  • Playoff Format: Spring / Summer (8 Week)
    • All teams are guaranteed 2 playoff games.
    • Only the Top 4 teams will compete for the League Championship.
       
  • Playoff Format: Spring / Summer (16 Week)
    • All teams are guaranteed 3 playoff games.
    • The Top 8 teams will compete for the League Championship.
       
  • ​Playoff Format: Fall (5 Week)
    • All teams are guaranteed 1 playoff game.
    • Only the Top 2 teams will compete for the League Championship.
       
  • League champs will receive t-shirts that can be picked up from the Season-end Party.
  • There are no ties in playoffs. 
    • If the score is tied at the end of 7 innings, one or more extra innings will be played:
      • Both teams get a chance to hit. If after 1 extra inning the game is still tied, the next extra inning(s) will be played using the “International Scoring Rule".
      • International Scoring Rule: Each team (when at bat) will start with the player who was the final out of the previous inning on 2nd base, then proceed as normal from there.

  • When registering a full team, there is no limit to the maximum number of players you can have on the roster.
  • Prior to the first game of the season, teams must have 10 players confirmed on the roster in MyCSSC. This number is equal to the total number of players required on the field in the above chart.
    • If the minimum amount of confirmed roster players is not met, the team will receive a loss for every game played until the requirement is met.
    • Minimum female requirements are inclusive of anyone who identifies as female (i.e. players who identify as M or X do not count towards F minimums).
  • Prior to the first playoff game, teams must have all players who are playing in the playoff game(s) displayed as part of the confirmed roster in MyCSSC.
    • If this requirement is not met, teams will receive an automatic loss and will not be eligible for the championship.
  • A team may bring in subs that are not listed on the roster. To learn more about the sub policies, click here.

  • Masters Leagues require that most players be at least 40 years of age prior to the start of the current season.
    • To assist with roster management, all teams are permitted up to three players that are 30 - 39  years of age at the start of the current season.
    • Although a team may have more U-40 players listed on their MyCSSC roster, teams are not allowed to exceed the above maximum on a weekly basis, including the use of subs.
  • Players that are 18-29 years of age are not permitted to play in the Masters League.
