It is our first season to form the team and play the indoor turf 6 vs 6 in CSSC. We all feel it is a valuable opportunity for us to meet and play on the same team. From unknown each other to finally familiar with each other and make friends together. Friendship is more than everything in the games. |

Buk Hockey
Captain: Seema King |
Night/Div/Sport: Wednesday Recreational Ball Hockey We have now played together as a team for over 6 years playing every season with a mix of floor hockey and now trying our hand at basketball. Although our performance has at times been lacking, we seem to end up always finishing on a strong note with teamwork and fun as our main priority. We hope to continue to play together for many more years to come, whether in Floor Hockey or any of the multiple other sports provided by the CSSC. We sincerely appreciate being nominated for the Lady Bing and hope to continue playing with a ‘fun-first’ attitude to make the game more enjoyable for everyone. |

Captain: Raychel Wickins |
Night/Div/Sport: Thursday Recreational Slo-Pitch History: "We have been playing with CSSC for 4 seasons now and have gone through just as many team names finally agreeing on Quit Ur Pitchin and we have run with it! We even made our own strike board! We all love playing softball as we love the social aspect, getting to meet new people and getting a little exercise all at the same time."

Captain: Gabrielle LeBlanc |
Night/Div/Sport: Wednesday Recreational Slo-Pitch History: "Now in its second season, I'd Like to Buy a Foul (formerly "A Walk to Remember") is a team of friends who signed up for CSSC Slo-Pitch as an excuse to leave work early and eat an excessive amount of sunflower seeds."

Fake it till we make it
Captain: Amir Nikravan |
Night/Div/Sport: Monday Recreational Multi-Sport History: "This is our second season playing CSSC, previously we played in a basketball league and figured that wasn't' our sport. We decided to take-up multi-sport this season and we have really enjoyed it, the best part is that it gives a chance for someone new to show off their talents each week. Our team name just comes from trying to pretend like we are good at sports, when it's more of a struggle than it looks."

Buccaneers
Captain: Andrew Parke |
Night/Div/Sport: Tuesday Recreational Slo-Pitch History: "The name Buccaneers was inspired by a teammate over some champagne. This is our 4th season in the CSSC. Our favourite aspect of the sport we play is that it’s the most fun team we have ever played with. We don’t stop laughing and look forward to every Tuesday. The team started with a several team members who didn’t know each other at all. The team now hangs out outside of softball."

Smokin Bats
Captain: Ryan Pezzack |
Night/Div/Sport: Sunday Recreational Plus Slo-Pitch Seasons in the CSSC: 5 History: "The Smokin Bats have been around for about 10 years and our current group of players are the “3rdgeneration” of the team. So we have no idea how our team name came about, but we stuck with it! Our team has played with the CSSCfor the last 5 years or so. We’re a team of nicknames, and newcomers never know our first names. Our team consists of: Pezz(our organizer and ‘captain’), Zip, Ricey, Joudrey(Sometimes named Slow-drey), Skidmore, Chewie, Payn, Stinger, Craig, Cliff, Sam, Mom, MVP, K-Pants, and Chips. We show up to win, and stay for the beers and good company. You’ll always find our team hanging around the diamond afterwards socializing or making fun of each other. What makes our team special is were all a good group of friends and as we get older and busier ball has been a nice way for everyone to keep in touch and catch up every week." |

Bad News Barristers
Captain: Antonio Corbo |
Night/Div/Sport: Monday Recreational Slo-Pitch Seasons in the CSSC: 1 History: "This is our first season playing in the CSSC. Some of us have played before, but for a lot of us, this was our first time playing softball. In the picture you have (from left top row, to left bottom row): Clint, Antonio (Tone), Laura, Brianne, Rhiannon, Kris, Ben, Monique (Moe), Kelsey, Stephanie (Scotty), and Jenna. We got the name of the Bad News Barristers because we all work at a law firm (funny right?). We all enjoy the team atmosphere and getting out of the office to be active and have fun. We want to thank the team that nominated us, and thank everyone we played against for being awesome. Thank you." |

Panic! At The Disc Throw
Captain: Antonio Tannas |
Night/Div/Sport: Wednesday Recreational Ultimate
Seasons in the CSSC: 1 History: "Panic! At The Disc Throw was founded on the idea that running around throwing Frisbees is a great way to spend an afternoon and proven method to make beer taste even better. This is our first ever season playing, but what we lack in skills, we more than make up for in spirit. Whether it’s playing Toto’s Africa loudly on a Bluetooth speaker, our signature chant of 1-2-3 PANIC! Or the fact that we’ve never missed post game beers (even when the games have been cancelled due to weather), we always show up and give it our best. We’re thrilled to have been nominated for the Lady Bing Sportsmanship award, and hope to see you all out there on the field!" |

Chupacabra FC
Captain: Austin Mireault |
Night/Div/Sport: Thursday Recreational Outdoor Soccer Seasons in the CSSC: 5 History: "Chupacabra have been with CSSC for almost 5 years now. We play outdoors during the summer/spring and turf soccer during the winter/fall. Our favourite part of the sport is giving each other a hard time when we mess up. We chose the name because our founding captain panicked and picked whatever came to his mind on the first season. We’ve really embraced it since!" |

Multiple Scoregasms
Captain: Megan White |
Night/Div/Sport: Thursday Recreational Slo-Pitch Seasons in the CSSC: 1 Nominated by: Annita Wilton History: "Our team was built primarily out of co-workers and some spouses. We also had a father-in-law join as well. This was the first team we had that was our own and not an individuals team and we really found our groove! We had a blast making our players wear the strike-out tutu and even shared it with some good spirited opponents! Our favorite part about baseball is that everyone gets their shot. You don't have to be the fastest or the best hitter to shine in ball. Everyone gets their moment at the plate. It brings out the best spirit in everyone when every player gets up and leaves it all on the field every time, regardless of experience or skill level." |

SONS
Captain: Martin Danielek |
Night/Div/Sport: Thursday Intermediate Slo-pitch Seasons in the CSSC: 5+ Nominated by: Zach Foster History: "The SONS, formerly Sons of Pitches, was created 6 years ago here in Calgary rising in the ranks in the CSCC. We shortened the name to SONS as we believe we are the OG (original) Sons of Pitches to remove any potential confusion for opposing teams. We are a group of young professionals who have used the team to stay in touch and have fun despite all the changes we face in life… Two of our teammates had a boy a year ago (Parker) who is aiming to try out for the team ASAP as his dad is already teaching him to hit dingers. We’re pumped to be nominated for this award as most teams only notice how the raw skill of the women on our team. Shout out to all the teammates." |

Dodgy Ballocks
Captain: Anne Klein |
Night/Div/Sport: Wednesday Recreational Dodgeball History: "Dodgey Ballocks started as a group of doe eyed and hopeful individuals, out to play some sports and socialize with other humans. Before long, this rag-tag group of misfits found comradery, and slowly climbed the ladder to dodgeball greatness. Championship hopefuls, beer drinkers and general shenanigan seeking, The Dodgey Ballocks is a team with heart, if not much brains." |

Flamethrowers
Captain: Kent Pigott |
Night/Div/Sport: Wednesday Recreational Ultimate Seasons in the CSSC: 3 Nominated by: Chandler Hart History: "Our team is formed from the local Burning Man community so the Flamethrowers name was a natural! We have played quite a few years in the CSSC, maybe 6 or 7 but we have some new players as well who are playing ultimate for the first time! Our favourite aspect is definitely meeting new people and having fun. Our motto is if we score one point we have won so sometimes get way too excited when we score a point in the late stages of a game and are down by 6 or 7 to 0." |

The Snow
Captain: Keith Short |
Night/Div/Sport: Thursday Recreational A Dodgeball Seasons in the CSSC: 5+ History: "Our team first played winter season in 2009. Jim intended to call the team the "Snow Balls" after playing the previous season on a team called Balls of Fury. The team was listed as "The Snow", however, and that's the name we've used since. The roster has changed frequently over the years, however several original team members still play, and many more of us have been with the team for at least seven or eight years now. And for us, the team camaraderie is our favourite aspect of dodgeball and CSSC." |

Balls & Dolls
Captain: Lisa Pedicino |
Night/Div/Sport: Wednesday Recreational Multi-Sport Seasons in the CSSC: 1 Nominated by: Jocelyn Carriere History: "This is our first ever season with CSSC and we absolutely loved it! We picked the Multi-Sport league as so many of us have a diverse range of talents within sports. We also love that what one player may lack the other totally makes up for in certain sports. It's been great playing with each other and learning from one another every week. My Fiancé and I started the team and got all of our friends to join, it's pretty much our wedding party coming together every week! Andrew and I came up with Balls & Dolls one day as we were pondering what to call ourselves. We loved that we had just as many females as males on the team so we thought it was a perfect fit! We have had a blast playing and can't wait for the Winter league to start! I told the team about our nomination and we are thrilled. We definitely aim to be the best sports when playing and it's great to get acknowledged, especially in our first season". |

Rocket Orange
Captain: Kevin Weerahandi |
Night/Div/Sport: Wednesday Recreational Floor Hockey Seasons in the CSSC: 7 Nominated by: Kellen Forrest History: "We have been playing floor hockey with the CSSC for 7 seasons now. I think most members of our team enjoy the opportunity to just get out of the house once a week, socialize with others and conveniently get a little exercise while doing it. I personally also like CSSC floor hockey specifically because it is a team sport that you can just start without any previous experience and have a great time. Our team name doesn't really have much of an origin story to it other than orange is a color no other teams seem to wear, the ball we use looks like an orange, and the goal is to "rocket" the orange ball right into the net for the win! Rocket Orange. A couple of people on our team have unofficial nicknames sometimes yelled from the sidelines including Crazy Legs, Tank and Turkey Butt". |

Hit for Brains
Captain: Carol Mulley |
Night/Div/Sport: Tuesday Recreational Indoor Volleyball Seasons in the CSSC: 5+ Nominated by: Jessica DeRaaf History: "Here is a picture of our team "Hit for Brains" at one of our team-building activities. We have played with CSSC for about 4 years. Our name comes from one of our team members. It's how he affectionately refers to his kids. We love the fun & friendly nature of CSSC's volleyball league.” |

Pandamonium
Captain: Kevin Trefry |
Night/Div/Sport: Sunday Recreational Flag Football Seasons in the CSSC: 5+ Nominated by: Cole Fortner History: “Pandamonium has been a part of CSSC for 3 years now playing in the spring and summer leagues and just this year tried the fall league. We have enjoyed playing flag football as it is a nice way to get out in the sun, get some good exercise and play a fun game with friends and strangers alike. Our team is made of family, friends and the new people we bring along every year who we think will have a good time playing with the team. We have been called the panda team multiple times due to our distinct baseball panda shirts we have. We are looking forward to playing more flag football and other sports with CSSC in the future. |

The Outsliders
Captain: Marnie Palmer |
Night/Div/Sport: Saturday Recreational Curling Seasons in the CSSC: 3 Nominated by: Meagan Mitchel History: “The Outsliders have been together for 3 seasons. Our gang consists of Marnie “Ponyboy” Palmer, Lana “Two-bit” Luba, “Johnny” Carson Jassman, and Mike “Dally” Waisman. We occasionally recruit Brayden “Sodapop” Palmer as our spare Outslider! Our favourite aspect of the game comes from mixing up the Socials and the Greaser’s especially if we are sharing a pint at the end of the game. I think our success comes from the simple words we live by.....stay gold!” |

Blue Balls
Captain: Laura LaGrange |
Night/Div/Sport: Thursday Recreational Basketball Seasons in the CSSC: 1 Nominated by: Bill Camarillo History: “We are team “Blue Balls”. We are a bunch of rugby players, with the Calgary Rams Rugby Club, who wanted something fun to do during our off season that would keep us all together. We have mainly women with two men from our men’s division, who are phenomenal rugby players who range from the Premier level of rugby (highest level of club rugby) down to division 3 (just for fun). We are a tight knit club who enjoy spending time together both on and off the pitch. This is our first season with CSSC and so far we are loving it. We don’t expect much out of this as only a couple of us have played basketball competitively before while the rest have not. We are a fun loving team and you will be sure to laugh your butt off if you watch us play. Between not knowing the rules or knowing how to shoot/pass/dribble. To our fun banter on the court. The origin of our name is basically because our Rugby colours are blue and we are playing basketball… Blue Balls. Thanks for nominating us!” |

Tiger Balmers
Captain: Danny Wong |
Night/Div/Sport: Tuesday Recreational Plus Floor Hockey Seasons in the CSSC: 10+ Nominated by: Matt Armstrong History: “We actually started out as a group of friends in 2009 and have added many new faces since then. We may have been known as Ballz of Glory or Chicken Run at some time, but after trying out the legends 35+ league for a few seasons, a name change to Tiger Balmers felt a bit more appropriate - we're all getting up there in age and these days we need all the help we can get in taking care of all the bruises and joint aches accumulated over the years =) We continue to play because we all enjoy getting the exercise in a casual, fun-filled environment. Not to mention the occasional ribbing from the GC's who recognize us on a first-name basis by now!” |

Sneakered Snipers
Captain: Susie de Teves |
Night/Div/Sport: Wednesday Recreational Floor Hockey Seasons in the CSSC: 10+ Nominated by: Ashley Barton History: “I started my team Sneakered Snipers in the Fall of 2009 which means we've been in CSSC for 8 calendar years. What initially was just a Fall/Winter filler after Softball season is now something we look forward to playing each and every week. We love playing hockey, but, more importantly being able to forget about the craziness of life for a couple hours and hang out with our buddies. In 8 years this is the first time being nominated for the Lady Bing Award which is a testament to how far we've come. We still have half the team playing from the original roster but we've had to weed out a few hooligans along the way. This only happened after adopting the slogan "Fun First, Winning Second". CSSC is well organized and a fun league to be part of. Thank you for nominating us!!” |

Balls 'n' Dolls
Captain: Brittany Kolba |
Night/Div/Sport: Tuesday Recreational Foam Dodgeball Seasons in the CSSC: 1 Nominated by: Ashley Jones History: “Balls ‘n’ Dolls was formed for the sole purpose of escaping the house for a few hours each week and getting active. Little did we know, games can end quickly...like...in 8 minutes haha. But, we can tell it was a “good” game if we leave with sore faces from laughing the entire time. Our score card may be weak but our desire to have a great time and earn our post-game tacos and margs is strong". |
