Want to get paid to get in the game?
Games Coordinators (GCs) are part-time employees who are paid by the CSSC to facilitate games in a few of our sports, including: Basketball, Dodgeball, Ball Hockey, Indoor Soccer and some Outdoor Soccer leagues.
GCs are NOT referees, as the CSSC is a self-officiated league. However, they do play a huge role in ensuring that all players have the best experience possible each and every night.
GCs are there to encourage sportsmanlike play and help ensure that games run smoothly. Players are expected to respect their opponents, the GC, and play by the rules of their sport. The self-officiated aspect of the game should not be overlooked just because a GC is onsite! Being a GC means:
arriving early
bringing the equipment and permits
facilitating setup and take down
acting as the onsite staff contact for facility staff
updating players with pre-game announcements, and hosting a half-time meeting with the captains
ensuring games start and end on time
ensuring players leave the facility when the permit ends
calling violations that are missed by players and enforcing the rules when needed
ensuring all players abide by our sportsmanship policy
managing disputes between teams
communicating any concerns from players to the league and vice versa
collecting sportsmanship ratings from each team and provide us with your own ratings
reporting the scores
Being a GC for the CSSC has its perks, including:
At the end of each season, a GC will be chosen to receive the GC of the Season Award! This award is given to those who not only properly mediate and facilitate their games, but who also help provide our players with a welcoming and positive experience.
