Practice safe sets in Sylvan Lake

The Sylvan Lake Co-ed Beach Volleyball Tournament is one of the most popular ESSC events ever and can sell out within minutes of registration opening. The pride of each city is on the line as we compete against the Calgary Sport & Social Club to be crowned the Battle of Alberta (BOA) Champions. It is recommended that teams take the opportunity to make it a full weekend of fun, and book a hotel so that they can take Sylvan Lake by storm and join the ESSC in a party that goes all night long.

  • 9:00am to 6:30pm

Official times will be sent to teams no later than 5:00pm on Wednesday the week of the event

Format / Roster

  • Guaranteed 4 matches

  • Divisions:

    • 4’s: Competitive, Intermediate Plus, Intermediate

    • 6’s: Intermediate, Recreational

  • All nets are set to 'men's' height: 2.43m

  • All courts are 9m x 9m (per side)

  • Playoffs are single elimination

  • 4’s teams must have at least 1 female on the court

  • 6’s teams must have at least 2 females on the court

  • All participants must be 18+ years old

The Fun

  • After-Party: Join us for the official tournament After-Party at Bukz Restaurant! Enter your name for a chance to win a FREE team registration for a Fall 2026 or Winter/Spring 2027 Calgary or Edmonton Indoor Volleyball Tournament, or a reserved team spot in the March 2027 BOA Indoor or June 2027 BOA Beach Volleyball Tournament. Come by anytime after your last game, but make sure you’re there for the 7:45pm draw! After the draw, we’ll announce the overall BOA winner, celebrate the champs, play some Closest To Trivia, and finish the night with karaoke.

  • Accommodations: Make a weekend of it! A block booking has been made for Friday and Saturday night at the Best Western which is walking distance from both the courts and the after party! Teams are responsible for booking their own hotel room(s). To make your reservation, call 403-887-7788 and mention you are with the “SSC BOA Players” to reserve a room in this block booking.

Cancellation Policy: Please contact the ESSC office no later than Friday two weeks before the event to receive a full refund. Refunds will not be given after this point.
