GC of the Season Awards

Games Coordinators are essential to CSSC leagues and play a huge role in ensuring that all players enjoy themselves each and every night. The CSSC GC Team is continuously growing and although there are many excellent members out at the games, each season the Club recognizes a select few with the GC of the Season Award.

Each winner is nominated through player submissions, CSSC Staff recommendations, and/or based off the Field Staff Manager and GC Head Trainer evaluations. The goal is to award those that display a positive and friendly attitude, while at the same time getting involved with the games and providing players with the best experience possible.

Winter 2019

Games Coordinator Bio
Kellen Forrest - Basketball

Sports: Basketball
Rookie Season: Fall 2017

I have been apart of the CSSC since the summer of 2017 when I was the field maintenance coordinator. I then started being a GC in the Fall of 2017.

Sports have been a huge part of my life ever since I was young. I played soccer, football, and basketball growing up. I was lucky enough to play for the University of Calgary Dinos football team for three years from 2013 - 2015. Today I continue to play basketball and soccer at a recreational level while finishing my Kinesiology degree at the U of C.

Being a GC has been a great experience for me and I am looking forward to many more great seasons.

Nicole MacInnis - Dodgeball

Sports: Dodgeball,
Rookie Season: Winter 2016

I started working at CSSC in January of this year after having played dodgeball for 4 seasons.

I enjoy dodgeball, and meeting new people so much I usually coordinate games twice a week in addition to playing on Monday nights. Whenever possible I like to take in a Flames or Stamps game, or hit up a local pub with friends.

My favourite teams are the Winnipeg Jets, Sharks, and the Boston Bruins. Before I got rid of cable I also enjoyed watching college football. I am currently studying at the University of Manitoba to earn a Masters degree in Sociology.

Dale Bolin - Floor Hockey

Sports: Floor Hockey
Rookie Season: Fall 2018

I always loved be active. Slo-pitch, hockey and volleyball are my main sports, but thats only a small portion of what I have played before. A friend of mine was a GC, and after talking to him it seemed like a natural fit for me to join the CSSC. Right away it felt like I was joining a family, and I look forward to working with everyone in the future.

Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my wonderful girlfriend and my 2 kids.

Thank you for the recognition!

Melissa Cheng - Multi-Sport

Sports: Multi-Sport, Dodgeball
Rookie Season: Fall 2014

I've been playing with CSSC since 2011. Started playing dodgeball as my first sport, and now play competitively (Yes... most people don't think that is a sport.. It's a sport alright! Don't judge!).

I love working for CSSC because I get to meet new people, coach, and be part of an amazing family. Everyone at CSSC is welcoming, and the atmosphere is just AMAZING!

Thank you for voting me as GC of the season (Even though I'm the only one who voted... haha! jkjk) But truly, I want to give my many thanks to all the staff and teams for making my evenings wonderful. And lastly, big shout out to my manager, Justin, truly a role model!

Caity Henry - Multi-Sport

Sports: Multi-Sport
Rookie Season: Winter 2018

I wanted to get involved in CSSC after I moved here from Toronto. I played and worked in the league there and wanted to pick up where I left off. And this league is everything I hoped it to be!

I play floor hockey a couple times a week in the league and work in Multisport and Soccer. This season was a challenge learning all the sports and the rules. Most of the teams were good and patient with me which made it a whole lot easier! It is also nice playing in the league to see how other GCs work and learn tips and tricks from them.

I look forward to another great season ahead!
