Know Your Coaches

We are thrilled to introduce Kaytlynn Soroka and Jaleesa Johnston as our coaches for Learn-to-Pickle as both have a wealth of Pickleball experience.

Kaytlynn Soroka has been playing pickleball for 3 years and picked it up after her mom persuaded her to try it. She was a high-level basketball player previously, and had to work hard to learn how to play with a paddle and develop proper technique. She secured a gold in 4.5 Women’s at Canadian Nationals and has played in Canadian Pro events such as Picklefest and the North American Professional Pickleball tour. She plays at a 5.0 level in Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) tournaments in the USA and secured her first win in a Pro Women’s Bracket in Vegas, in 2023. She loves passing her knowledge of the game down to developing players and strives to help her students meet their full potential in the sport while having fun and keeping things light.

Jaleesa Johnston has been playing pickleball for over 6 years and was first introduced to the sport by a former soccer coach from the University of Lethbridge. Coming from a sports background, she became addicted to learning and developing her game and she has been able to share her passion for coaching with players from a variety of skill levels. One of her greatest pickleball accomplishments was medaling in each event during the 2018 Pickleball Canada Nationals; in Women’s, Mixed, and Singles. Jaleesa continues to be a strong presence in Alberta Pickleball and is known around the Province for her hard drives, sharp angles, and her consistent and aggressive dinking.
