What is a Battle of Alberta (BOA) Tournament: 18 teams from Calgary and 18 teams from Edmonton will battle for provincial domination at one of the most popular Sport & Social Club events ever. It’s the perfect excuse to plan a weekend road trip with some friends, play some Volleyball on the pier in the heart of Sylvan Lake, and to let loose and party it up on Lakeshore Drive.
Facility: The Pier in Sylvan Lake, AB
Divisions:
- 4’s: Competitive, Intermediate Plus, Intermediate
- 6’s: Intermediate, Recreational
Approx. Times:
- 9:00am to 6:30pm
- Official times will be sent to teams no later than 5:00pm on Thursday the week of the event
Format/Roster:
- Guaranteed 4 matches
- All nets are set to 'men's' height: 2.43m
- All courts are 9m x 9m (per side)
- Playoffs are single elimination
- 4’s teams must have at least 1 female on the court
- 6’s teams must have at least 2 females on the court
- All participants must be 18+ years old
Accommodations: Make a weekend of it! A block booking has been made for Friday and Saturday night at the Prairie Moon Inn which is a 5 minute drive from both the courts and the after party! Teams are responsible for booking their own hotel room(s). To make your reservation, call 403-887-7884 and mention the "Sport and Social Club" to reserve a room in this block booking.
After-Party: Once your games are wrapped up, head over to Fireside Bar & Grill for some BOA after-party action. We will be doing our champ shirt presentation, and giving away tons of prizing and free drinks all night long! Plus, you can enjoy SSC exclusive specials including: 10% off all food, $5.50 Fireball, highballs, and bottles, and $5.00 Pink Whitney.
