I’ve heard it, you’ve heard it, and your grandma’s heard it: Nobody puts Baby in a corner. Which is all good and fun when it comes to dancing, but we’re talking DODGEBALL here. Forget what you’ve heard – being in a corner is the best thing that could happen to you.

Not only do the corners make dodging easier, but it also gives your team control of the rebounding balls, and drastically alters the flow of the game. How, you ask? Well in this instalment of LTS, I’m going to teach you! To use the corners, you’re going to want to, well, go into a corner. You’ll notice right away that your new pal, The Wall, limits the amount of angles your opponents can throw at you. Since you only have to focus on avoiding balls coming from the same general direction of your body, dodging should be much easier. If you try to position yourself in the corner opposite of the hardest or fastest thrower (rather than being face-to-face with them), this should give you more time to react.

The next part of using the corners is a little trickier, but I have faith you can handle it! As your opponents throw at you, you’ll need to dodge (duh!) then rapidly make like a starfish, spreading your arms and legs out to trap the balls in the corner behind you. Once you’ve got control of the balls, you can get to throwing.

Another big advantage of being in the corner is to act as a wingman wingperson and counter attack! But you’ll just have to join us for another edition of LTS to learn more about this.

Now don’t be a Baby – get in a corner!
